Batanga Tequila Blanco is a 100% puro de agave tequila from Casa Orendain, bottled at 40% ABV (80 proof).
Casa Orendain was founded in 1926 by Don Eduardo Orendain, and the Orendain family is one of the founding families of the tequila industry.
It is distilled from 100% blue Weber agave grown in and around the town of Tequila, Jalisco.
It is a green, earthy blanco, with vegetal agave, bell pepper and black pepper, refreshing mint and a soft, earthy smoke.
The brand takes its name from the Batanga, the tequila, lime and cola highball made famous by Don Javier Delgado Corona at La Capilla, his tiny bar in the town of Tequila.
Blanco tequila is bottled unaged or rested for less than two months, so it shows the agave at its purest: bright, peppery and fresh. It is the classic choice for margaritas and palomas, and a good blanco is just as rewarding sipped neat.

How to Enjoy It
Make the classic Batanga: rim a tall glass with salt, add ice, pour in Batanga Blanco and the juice of a fresh lime, top with cold cola and stir, ideally with a knife, as Don Javier did. It is just as good in a Margarita, a Paloma with grapefruit soda, or a Ranch Water with sparkling mineral water and lime. Sip it neat to taste its earthy agave. Pair it with tacos al pastor, carne asada, ceviche and guacamole. For a party, set out cola, limes, salt and plenty of ice for a Batanga bar.
