The Bevridge American Single Malt Tasting Experience is a kit of ten 50ml bottles that takes you on a guided journey through America's fast-growing single malt category, created by Bevridge with Whisky Live.
American single malt is whiskey made from 100% malted barley at a single distillery in the United States, and producers across the country are giving it their own regional character. The kit gathers expressions from distilleries such as Westland in Seattle, Balcones in Texas, Virginia Distillery, Boulder Spirits, Santa Fe Spirits and Westward in Portland, including cask-finished, peated and bottled-in-bond styles.
Each kit comes with access to Bevridge's interactive platform, with more than a dozen on-demand videos featuring the distillers, so you can taste along and learn how place, barley, stills and casks shape each whiskey.
Beautifully packaged, it is a perfect gift for curious whiskey lovers and a great centrepiece for a tasting with friends.
Taste the samples side by side, from lightest to boldest, with a glass of water to refresh the palate.
American whiskey covers a wide range of styles, from bourbon and rye to single malts and light whiskeys, and independent blenders and small producers have made it one of the most exciting categories in spirits.
Unlike Scotch, American single malt may be aged in new or used oak, which gives distillers great freedom of style, from fruity and floral to smoky and robust. The category has recently been formally recognised by US regulators, and tasting a flight side by side is one of the best ways to discover its range.
