From East Coast tycoons to West Coast cowboys, folks took the time to break out their best and raise a glass, and that era inspired this 1880s-style small-batch bourbon. It uses a high-rye recipe of 70% corn, 26% rye and 4% malted barley, and comes in a heavy, embossed amber flask topped with a cork.
Vanilla and sweet hay lead the nose, accented by sandalwood and mace. The entry is smooth and balanced with pecan-pie sweetness, butterscotch and cinnamon, evolving into warm, rich spice, and it coats the palate with a complex, long-lasting chestnut finish.
