Black Tot Finest Caribbean is a powerful blend of fine Caribbean rums in the style of the British Royal Navy's daily ration, bottled at 92.4 proof (46.2% ABV).
For around 300 years the Royal Navy issued sailors a daily tot of rum, a crafted blend of Caribbean rums from across the British Empire, until Black Tot Day on July 31, 1970, when the tradition ended. A few stoneware flagons of the original rum survived in naval warehouses. Black Tot founder Sukhinder Singh tracked some down from collectors, sampled the contents and had them scientifically analysed, and modelled Black Tot on that original navy dram.
The blend brings together rums from Barbados, Guyana, Jamaica and Trinidad, the pillars of the British Caribbean rum tradition. Expect tropical and dark fruit with toasted oak, caramel and vanilla on the nose, and ripe tropical fruit, dark caramel and warming oak spice on a smooth, deeply layered palate.
