Bladnoch, on the banks of the River Bladnoch near Wigtown, is Scotland's southernmost distillery, founded in 1817. Master distiller Nick Savage hand-selects every cask for this expression, building a profile of fruitcake, dark chocolate and subtle sweet cinnamon.
The nose brings dried fruits, orange peel, dark chocolate and honeyed malt with hints of polished oak. On the palate come fruitcake, raisins, cocoa and subtle sweet cinnamon spice, and the finish is long and warming, with dark chocolate, old leather and ginger.
