Blue Run Reflection II is a small-batch Kentucky straight bourbon from Blue Run Spirits, bottled at 100 proof (50% ABV).
With Reflection II, Whiskey Director Shaylyn Gammon continues the Reflection tradition while emphasising a different layer of flavour than its predecessor. Where Reflection I focused on darker base notes like oak and caramel, Reflection II zeroes in on brighter middle notes, including florals and sweetness. It also features older whiskey stocks, with Gammon seeking out barrels that clearly showed elevated mid-note flavours from Blue Run's inventory of more than 5,000 barrels.
The result is a brighter, floral and sweet Kentucky bourbon built around its mid-palate.
Presented in Blue Run's distinctive bottle, it makes a fine gift for bourbon lovers.
Sip it neat or over a single large ice cube.
Bourbon must be made in the United States from a mash of at least 51% corn and aged in new charred oak containers, and straight bourbon must be aged at least two years. Those rules give bourbon its characteristic sweetness, with caramel and vanilla drawn from the charred barrels.

Blenders often describe a whiskey's flavour in layers: top notes that lift from the glass first, middle notes that define the palate, and base notes of oak and caramel that anchor the finish.
Blue Run, based in Kentucky, selects and blends barrels into small-batch and single-barrel releases.
At 100 proof, a few drops of water open up the floral notes.
