Bonampak takes its name from the ancient Maya site in Chiapas, Mexico, famed for its painted murals. In Chiapas, Maya symbolism touches every part of life, and the jaguar, the face that distinguishes Ron Bonampak, is one of its most important emblems.
Bonampak's range of aged rums also includes a five-year-old dark rum and a double cask rum. Gran Reserva is distilled from molasses and aged, which gives it a deep mahogany color and rich, layered flavor, and it is presented in a heavy decanter with a crystal-style stopper.
Expect toffee, dried fruit and vanilla on the nose, a smooth, rounded palate of caramel, dark sugar, oak and baking spice, and a warm, lingering finish.
