Bozal Castilla Reserva is a single-agave mezcal made from Castilla agave by the ancestral clay-pot method, bottled at 47.3% ABV.
The agave hearts are roasted in earthen pit ovens and crushed with a tahona wheel.
Fermentation and distillation take place in clay pots, the most traditional way to make mezcal.
It is fruit-forward and earthy, with roasted agave, mocha, mint and pepper, finishing with subtle smoke, weathered leather and soft minerality.
Bozal's Reserva line celebrates rare agaves and traditional methods, and the Castilla Reserva has earned a Double Gold medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition. Its tall, textured black bottle makes it a striking gift for a mezcal collector.
