Bozal Madrecuishe is a single maguey mezcal made from wild Madrecuishe agave, a member of the Karwinskii family, bottled at 46% ABV.
It comes from the San Luis Amatlán region of Oaxaca and is made by hand in small batches.
It shows earthy beet and sweet potato, minerality, pollen and green vegetal notes, with a dry, smoky finish.
Bozal means 'wild' or 'untamed' in Spanish, and for every agave harvested, two are planted.
Its tall, matte blue-green bottle makes it a striking gift. We also carry Bozal Cuishe and Tepeztate.
