Broadley Vineyards Marcile Lorraine is an estate-grown Willamette Valley Pinot Noir from vintage 2016, at 13.8% ABV.
It comes from a distinctive block of old vines on the family estate in the hills west of Monroe, Oregon.
The wine is named for founder Craig Broadley's mother.
Broadley's site sits in a relatively warm pocket, a "banana belt" within the cool Willamette Valley climate, and the wine is estate grown and bottled.
Expect dark cherry, raspberry, earth and spice, a classic Oregon Pinot for special dinners.
Good wine rewards a little care in serving. Whites and rosés show best chilled to around 45 to 50°F, while reds are at their most expressive slightly below room temperature, around 60 to 65°F. Opening the bottle and letting it breathe for a few minutes, or pouring it into a decanter, helps the aromas open up.
