Brother's Bond is a four-grain, high-rye Kentucky straight bourbon created by Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley, aged a minimum of four years and bottled at 80 proof (40% ABV).
Somerhalder and Wesley, who played the Salvatore brothers on The Vampire Diaries, drank bourbon together on and off screen for close to a decade while filming in the South. The brand was their sole vision, from blending the bourbon in Ian's kitchen over the course of a year to developing the label and selecting the name. The mash bill is 65% corn and 22% rye, with wheat and barley making up the rest; copper column and copper pot-doubler distillation creates a spirit full of flavor and texture, aged in virgin American oak with #4 char on the staves and #2 char on the heads. A portion of every bottle sold goes to charity: water.
Elegant and exceptionally rich, it delivers a complex, balanced taste with a touch of sweetness and spice.
The golden-tree label makes it a meaningful gift for friends.
Bourbon must be made in the United States from a mash of at least 51% corn and aged in new charred oak containers, and straight bourbon must be aged at least two years. Those rules give bourbon its characteristic sweetness, with caramel and vanilla drawn from the charred barrels.
