Bruichladdich Islay Barley 2013 is the eighth edition of the distillery's unpeated Islay barley series, a single malt made from barley of the 2012 harvest grown on seven Islay farms and distilled in 2013, bottled at 50% ABV.
It matured in 75% first-fill American oak and 25% refill French oak and is bottled without chill filtration.
The series displays terroir, the idea that the land where the barley is grown shapes the whisky. The distillery notes citrus and honey, then dried apricot and ripe peaches.
