Bulleit 95 Rye 10 Year is an American straight rye whiskey made from the same 95% rye, 5% malted barley mash bill as classic Bulleit Rye and aged at least 10 years in charred American white oak, bottled at 91.2 proof (45.6% ABV).
The latest from the New Frontier, Bulleit Rye Aged 10 Years uses the same mash bill as Bulleit's flagship rye, long a bartender's favorite since it joined the lineup in 2011, and matures it for no less than a decade in charred American white oak for a balance of smoothness and spice. It is bottled by The Bulleit Distilling Co. in Louisville, Kentucky.
Pear-like fruitiness, sweet vanilla and a dry, buttery oakiness meet classic, full-bodied rye spice and caramel, finishing crisp and lingering with gentle spice and toasted oak.
The embossed frontier bottle makes it a classic gift.
American rye whiskey is made from a mash of at least 51% rye and aged in new charred oak, giving it a spicier, drier character than bourbon, with notes of pepper, herbs and baking spice.
Straight rye must age at least two years in new charred oak.
A 95% rye mash gives bold, herbal spice.
Serve it neat in a Glencairn glass.
A splash of water opens up the pear and vanilla.
Pour it over a large ice cube for slow sipping.
It is a great gift for rye fans.
