Bulleit 95 Rye is a straight rye whiskey made from a mash bill of 95% rye and 5% malted barley, bottled at 90 proof (45% ABV). This is the large 1.75L bottle.
Released in 2011, Bulleit Rye has become one of the most recognized American ryes, prized by bartenders for its spice and complexity. It is aged a minimum of four years in new American oak barrels with a No. 4 char, which builds the color and the woody depth that balance all that rye. It earned a Gold medal at the 2021 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
It is russet in color, with aromas of biscuit, spice and dried apricot. The palate is bold and spicy, with rye spice leading into toasted oak, cinnamon and citrus zest, and the finish is long, satiny and woody with a hint of light toffee that lingers well after the last sip.
That bold profile is made for cocktails, above all a classic Manhattan, and the 1.75L size keeps a home bar stocked for a season of them.
American rye whiskey is made from a mash of at least 51% rye and aged in new charred oak, giving it a spicier, drier character than bourbon, with notes of pepper, herbs and baking spice.
