Bumbu The Original is a Barbados rum blended with hand-selected native Caribbean spices, distilled in small batches and blended by hand, bottled at 70 proof (35% ABV).
Bumbu is based on the original recipe created by 16th- and 17th-century sailors of the West Indies, who blended native Caribbean ingredients into their rum and called it Bumbu, truly the original craft spirit. An authentic Caribbean legend, it evokes the rich and colorful history of the West Indies.
The flagship rum is distilled and blended in Barbados, the birthplace of rum, where the spirit was first crafted over 400 years ago, at the historic West Indies Rum Distillery on the beach. It is made from sugarcane sourced from eight countries across the Caribbean and South America, fermented with a 180-year-old yeast strain, and aged in ex-bourbon barrels before being blended with all-natural native spices and no artificial colors.
The result is an award-winning premium rum, exceptionally balanced and smooth without sacrificing the richness and complexity that make Barbados rum renowned, with the native spices woven through a rich rum base.
