In late January 2020, Lil Wayne released his thirteenth studio album, Funeral, which debuted at number one. Bumbu partnered with the artist on a limited edition of its XO to celebrate the release, and the bottle carries Lil Wayne's logo and the album title on its back, making it as much a collectible as a rum.
The rum inside is Bumbu XO: a smooth, rich and complex handcrafted rum, distilled and aged in Panama for this release. It spends up to 18 years in ex-bourbon barrels before a finish in Spanish white oak sherry casks, which rounds it into a beautifully balanced, endlessly sippable pour.
Expect rich caramel, vanilla and toasted oak, with notes of coffee and gentle spice from the long bourbon-barrel aging and dried-fruit depth from the sherry finish. The finish is smooth and bold, the kind of rum that rewards slow sipping.
