Butterfly Cannon The Winged King is a soft, sweet and smooth 100% Blue Weber agave reposado tequila from Jalisco, bottled at 80 proof (40% ABV) in an heirloom-quality decanter of solid ceramic.
As much a collector's piece as a spirit, the black ceramic decanter is topped with a heavyweight, all-metal statuette stopper in the form of the brand's iconic winged king, designed to be displayed as proudly as it is enjoyed. The 7- to 8-year-old agave is harvested by hand and slow cooked in traditional steam ovens for a minimum of three days, then left two to three more days to cool before being mashed and distilled, retaining its natural agave flavor.
Aged in oak barrels, it shows a light amber, golden hue. The nose offers light, mellow oak with citrus undertones and natural agave. The flavor brings natural agave, warm vanilla, tree nuts, spiced cloves, ground cinnamon, caramel and oak, retaining the agave sweetness that makes it approachable and elegant.
It is a show-stopping gift for collectors.
Reposado, meaning rested, is tequila aged between two months and a year in oak, which gives it a pale gold colour and a gentle touch of wood while keeping the agave bright and lively.
Tequila can only be made from blue Weber agave in five designated Mexican states, chiefly Jalisco, and the finest bottlings are made from 100% agave. Sipping tequila is best enjoyed from a narrow-rimmed glass that concentrates the aromas, at room temperature and without salt or lime, so the character of the agave and the barrel can come through.
