Canerock Jamaican Spiced Rum is a rich, complex spiced rum from the house of Maison Ferrand, made from aged Jamaican rums and real natural spices and bottled at 80 proof (40% ABV) in a 700ml bottle.
The base is a blend of 100% Jamaican rums distilled in pot and column stills at the Long Pond and Clarendon distilleries and aged five to ten years. Instead of flavorings, the rum is macerated with whole natural spices: Madagascar vanilla, Caribbean coconut and ginger, each infused for weeks, and the blend is finished in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks for extra depth.
Sweet vanilla and brown sugar lead the nose, followed by warm cinnamon, nutmeg and a hint of dried fruit from the sherry cask, in an almost spiked-eggnog fashion. The palate is sweet and rich, with a rush of caramel balanced by earthy nutmeg, and coconut cream emerging toward the back. The finish brings the rum backbone forward, with molasses and oak tannins.
