Caramba Reposado is a triple-distilled, 100% blue Weber agave tequila rested six to twelve months in Canadian oak, bottled at 80 proof (40% ABV) in Caramba's signature globe-shaped bottle.
Caramba, the World's Sexiest Tequila, is instantly recognizable for its playful, leaning bottle with a round, globe-shaped base and long tilted neck.
To be called reposado, a tequila must rest at least two months in oak. Caramba goes well beyond that: its Reposado is the house silver, triple distilled from 100% blue agave, rested in Canadian oak casks or vats called pipones for six to twelve months. The oak gives it a mellowed taste, a pleasing bouquet and a pale golden color while keeping the blue agave character.
The aging mellows the spirit's intensity, resulting in a complex profile that retains the freshness of the agave. Expect cooked agave sweetness front and center, subtle hints of exotic fruit and slight wood, and light oak and vanilla spice, all gentle on the palate and finishing smooth and even.
Easy for newcomers and balanced enough for seasoned drinkers, it sips beautifully neat or on the rocks and holds its shape in a Margarita, a Paloma or a Tequila Old Fashioned.
Reposado, meaning rested, is tequila aged between two months and a year in oak, which gives it a pale gold colour and a gentle touch of wood while keeping the agave bright and lively.
Tequila can only be made from blue Weber agave in five designated Mexican states, chiefly Jalisco, and the finest bottlings are made from 100% agave. Sipping tequila is best enjoyed from a narrow-rimmed glass that concentrates the aromas, at room temperature and without salt or lime, so the character of the agave and the barrel can come through.
