Casa Dragones Añejo Barrel Blend is a small-batch añejo made from 100% Blue Weber agave from Jalisco, aged in new, custom-made casks of French oak and American oak that are combined at the end. It is bottled at 40% ABV.
Casa Dragones is known for refined, sipping-focused tequilas, and the Añejo Barrel Blend shows its approach to wood: two different oaks, each new and custom-made, bring complementary character before the tequilas are blended into one.
Light caramel with bright hues, it offers fresh floral and pear notes with figs and almonds on the nose. The palate brings macadamia, nutmeg and blackberry, and the finish is long and round, with cacao and spicy black pepper.
The elegant dark bottle with its embossed dragon emblem is presented in Casa Dragones' signature blue box, making it a refined gift.
Enjoy it neat or on the rocks with a small ice cube, as the house suggests.
Añejo tequila is aged between one and three years in oak barrels of no more than 600 litres, long enough to add colour, sweetness and spice while keeping the character of the agave, which makes it a natural sipping tequila.
Tequila can only be made from blue Weber agave in five designated Mexican states, chiefly Jalisco, and the finest bottlings are made from 100% agave. Sipping tequila is best enjoyed from a narrow-rimmed glass that concentrates the aromas, at room temperature and without salt or lime, so the character of the agave and the barrel can come through.
