Casa Dragones Reposado Mizunara is a tequila rested exclusively in new Mizunara casks, the rare Japanese oak traditionally used for Japanese whisky. Made from 100% blue Weber agave, it is bottled at 40% ABV.
Casa Dragones is known for refined, sipping-focused tequilas, and here it pairs its smooth, small-batch agave with the incense and sandalwood character of Mizunara, an oak so porous and knotty that it is notoriously difficult to cooper.
Light golden with a silky body, it opens with orange blossom and magnolia, honey and sandalwood on the nose. The palate brings oak, butterscotch and apricot, and the finish is long, with coffee bean and mild spice.
Presented in Casa Dragones' signature blue gift box, it is a refined gift for lovers of tequila and Japanese whisky alike.
Serve it neat or with a small ice cube, as the house suggests.
Reposado, meaning rested, is tequila aged between two months and a year in oak, which gives it a pale gold colour and a gentle touch of wood while keeping the agave bright and lively.
Tequila can only be made from blue Weber agave in five designated Mexican states, chiefly Jalisco, and the finest bottlings are made from 100% agave. Sipping tequila is best enjoyed from a narrow-rimmed glass that concentrates the aromas, at room temperature and without salt or lime, so the character of the agave and the barrel can come through.
