Casa Maestri Reserva de MFM Blanco is a 100% Blue Weber agave tequila from Jalisco, presented in a hand-decorated ceramic bottle and bottled at 80 proof (40% ABV).
Casa Maestri was founded by Michael and Celia Maestri and is made at Destiladora del Valle de Tequila (NOM 1438). The Reserva de MFM ceramic bottles are artisanal pieces, designed by Celia Maestri with the ceramic artist Oscar Reynoso Becerra of Guadalajara, Jalisco. The bottle carries the whole of Mexican culture, the charrería, the mariachi and the romance and mystery of Mexican heritage, all the way around. The flavor profile was designed by Michael Maestri together with tequila expert Ana María Romero.
It is made with traditional methods: blue agave aged seven years is cooked in old-fashioned stone brick ovens before fermentation and distillation. The result is fruity, floral and slightly herbaceous, with cooked agave and a hint of minerality, smooth and peppery on the palate with tropical fruit. The tequila is kosher certified and gluten-free.
The tall red and white ceramic bottle is a collector's piece and a striking gift long after the tequila is gone.
Blanco tequila is bottled unaged or rested for less than two months, so it shows the agave at its purest: bright, peppery and fresh. It is the classic choice for margaritas and palomas, and a good blanco is just as rewarding sipped neat.
