Cazadores Añejo Cristalino is a 100% highland blue Weber agave añejo tequila, rested 12 months in new American oak and then slowly filtered to a brilliant, crystal-clear finish. It is bottled at 80 proof (40% ABV).
The tequila owes its sheen and transparency to a time-consuming, thorough filtration. Its foundation comes from slow, harmonious fermentation and distillation; after a year in new American oak barrels, it is filtered to remove the color while keeping the sensory qualities of an añejo.
The result is a clear tequila that still drinks like an añejo, with notes of aged wood, nuts, almond and apple, a touch of green freshness and a clean, elegant flavor that ends in a smooth, sweet, refined finish.
Its tall bottle with the silver stag makes it a striking gift. Sip it neat or over ice, or use it in an elevated cocktail such as a tequila Martini.
Añejo tequila is aged between one and three years in oak barrels of no more than 600 litres, long enough to add colour, sweetness and spice while keeping the character of the agave, which makes it a natural sipping tequila.
Tequila can only be made from blue Weber agave in five designated Mexican states, chiefly Jalisco, and the finest bottlings are made from 100% agave. Sipping tequila is best enjoyed from a narrow-rimmed glass that concentrates the aromas, at room temperature and without salt or lime, so the character of the agave and the barrel can come through.
