Ceretto Barolo is the estate's classic Barolo DOCG, made from 100% Nebbiolo in Piedmont, Italy, at 14.5% ABV.
It blends Nebbiolo from select vineyards across the communes of Barolo, La Morra, Serralunga d'Alba and Castiglione Falletto.
This follows the traditional approach to Barolo, used before single-vineyard bottlings, and expresses the Nebbiolo grape more than any single cru.
The Ceretto family estate is based in Alba, at the heart of the Langhe.
Expect red cherry, rose, tar and spice with firm tannins, a classic wine for the cellar or the table.
Good wine rewards a little care in serving. Whites and rosés show best chilled to around 45 to 50°F, while reds are at their most expressive slightly below room temperature, around 60 to 65°F. Opening the bottle and letting it breathe for a few minutes, or pouring it into a decanter, helps the aromas open up.
