Chase GB Extra Dry Gin is an English gin from the Chase Distillery in Herefordshire, made by copper pot distilling Chase potato vodka with ten botanicals, bottled at 80 proof (40% ABV).
Unlike most gins, which begin with a neutral grain spirit, Chase GB starts with the distillery's own potato vodka, distilled from potatoes grown on the family's Herefordshire farm. Will Chase grew up farming in Herefordshire and, after discovering a small distillery making potato vodka while traveling in the USA, turned the family's potatoes into spirits. The vodka is copper-pot redistilled with juniper (both the buds and the berries), coriander seed, bitter almond, cinnamon bark, ginger, cloves, angelica root, liquorice root, lemon peel and cardamom. The potato base gives the gin a luxurious, velvety texture you won't find in standard grain-based gins.
The nose is fragrant with juniper, lemon and cinnamon. The palate is smooth and full bodied, with juniper and spice balanced by lemon peel freshness, and the finish is long and extra dry.
The bold green bottle makes it a stylish gift for gin lovers.
Potato vodka gives gin a creamier mouthfeel than grain spirit.
Juniper buds add a fresh, green note alongside the berries.
Serve it with premium tonic, plenty of ice and a twist of lemon.
It makes a crisp, classic Martini.
A Negroni with Chase GB is bold and aromatic.
Try it in a Tom Collins on a warm afternoon.
Pair a G&T with fish and chips.
It is a great gift for fans of British craft spirits.
Its green bottle stands out on any bar.
