Garrus is considered Château d'Esclans' finest wine, a Provence rosé made from a single vineyard of nearly 100-year-old vines.
It is entirely fermented and aged in new large French oak barrels.
Garrus was at the heart of Sacha Lichine's vision in 2006 to make rosé grand, and it is now an iconic luxury rosé.
Concentrated aromas of dried citrus, peaches and passion fruit lead to bright acidity, with glazed pear and pineapple on the mid-palate.
Its toasty notes recall a vintage Champagne without the bubbles, and the finish is long and vertical, creamy, with rich, spicy notes. Powerful and elegant, Garrus is a rosé for the dinner table and a showpiece gift from the makers of Whispering Angel.
Good wine rewards a little care in serving. Whites and rosés show best chilled to around 45 to 50°F, while reds are at their most expressive slightly below room temperature, around 60 to 65°F. Opening the bottle and letting it breathe for a few minutes, or pouring it into a decanter, helps the aromas open up.
