Código 1530 George Strait Cowboys and Dreamers is a special edition añejo tequila celebrating country music icon and Código co-founder George Strait's album Cowboys and Dreamers, aged two years in French oak Cabernet wine barrels and bottled at 40% ABV.
Código 1530 chars its barrels by hand on site at its private distillery in Amatitán, Jalisco, and ages its tequila to taste instead of time, adhering to the traditional codes and customs of tequila making. This limited release honours Código's long-standing relationship with George Strait.
Two years in hand-charred French oak that once held Cabernet wine create a deliciously balanced añejo, with inviting aromas of oak and caramel and a rich, complex palate.
With its special-edition presentation, it makes a collectible gift for George Strait fans and tequila lovers.
Sip it neat or over a single large ice cube.
Añejo tequila is aged between one and three years in oak barrels of no more than 600 litres, long enough to add colour, sweetness and spice while keeping the character of the agave, which makes it a natural sipping tequila.
Tequila can only be made from blue Weber agave in five designated Mexican states, chiefly Jalisco, and the finest bottlings are made from 100% agave. Sipping tequila is best enjoyed from a narrow-rimmed glass that concentrates the aromas, at room temperature and without salt or lime, so the character of the agave and the barrel can come through.
