Código 1530 Rosa is the brand's blanco tequila rested for one month in French white oak Napa Cabernet barrels, giving a subtle pink hue and a light floral finish, bottled at 40% ABV, here in the 1-litre format.
Código 1530 uses only fully matured blue Weber agave from Los Bajos, the lowlands around Amatitán, and Amatitán water from freshwater pools and rainwater filtered through volcanic soil. A proprietary chopper extracts only the best juice and pulp from the first press, and no chemicals, flavourings or sweeteners are added. One month is long enough for the Cabernet barrels to add a delicate blush of berry and floral wine character without overwhelming the agave.
Elegant floral notes meet pure agave, with soft berry, light citrus and a faint wine-accented dryness on a smooth, crisp finish. It won Gold at the 2021 SIP Awards.
Its pale pink hue makes it a beautiful gift.
Enjoy it neat or in your favourite cocktail.
Blanco tequila is bottled unaged or rested for less than two months, so it shows the agave at its purest: bright, peppery and fresh. It is the classic choice for margaritas and palomas, and a good blanco is just as rewarding sipped neat.
Tequila can only be made from blue Weber agave in five designated Mexican states, chiefly Jalisco, and the finest bottlings are made from 100% agave. Sipping tequila is best enjoyed from a narrow-rimmed glass that concentrates the aromas, at room temperature and without salt or lime, so the character of the agave and the barrel can come through.
