Compass Box Brûlée Royale is a limited-edition blended malt Scotch whisky released for Compass Box's 25th anniversary and inspired by the creation of crème brûlée at the court of Versailles. Bottled at 49% ABV, it is non-chill-filtered.
The blend is built around Clynelish matured in second-fill American oak barrels, with Benrinnes from first-fill bourbon barrels, Speyburn from refill American oak hogsheads and a touch of old Ardbeg from re-charred American oak. Custom American oak barrels from the Independent Stave Company in Missouri bring sweet, crackling toffee flavours.
Layers of vanilla custard, scorched sugar and freshly opened vanilla pods lead the way, with tarte Tatin, nectarine, burnt toffee and Danish pastry, with crème caramel, brandy snaps, red apple, praline and speculoos biscuits, and a long, elegant finish of vanilla, caramelised sugar and soft spice.
Presented in an ornate box illustrating a grand palace kitchen, it is a superb gift for dessert and whisky lovers.

Scotch whisky must be distilled and matured in Scotland for at least three years in oak casks, and any age statement on the label refers to the youngest whisky in the bottle.
