Cooperstown Distillery Spitball is a complex cinnamon whiskey made with three types of cinnamon and 50% less sugar than mass-market competitors, bottled at 70 proof (35% ABV).
Cooperstown Distillery draws on the picturesque beauty and celebrated history of Cooperstown, New York, home of the National Baseball Hall of Fame, and its handcrafted spirits are inspired by the literature of James Fenimore Cooper and the town's world-famous reputation for honoring excellence.
Spitball is named for the controversial, and ultimately outlawed, baseball pitch of the game's early days, when pitchers would spit on or otherwise doctor the ball to change its spin and trajectory. Cooperstown is the storied home of baseball lore, from the tale of Abner Doubleday inventing the game in its pastures to its place today as the home of the National Baseball Hall of Fame, and the distillery loves to pay tribute to the history of the sport. Spitball delivers a spicy kick reminiscent of the crack of a bat hitting a home run.
Made from three types of cinnamon, it packs a powerful punch of heat reminiscent of other cinnamon whiskeys, but finishes with undertones of coffee, chocolate and caramel. At 70 proof and just a tad sweet, it is built for more than shots.
Whiskey connoisseurs can enjoy it straight or on the rocks, or as a mixer in a Manhattan or a Whiskey Sour. Step up to the plate.
