Cooperstown Hall of Champions Reposado Agave Spirit is a collectible release from Cooperstown Distillery in New York, presented in a bold soccer ball-shaped glass bottle and bottled at 80 proof (40% ABV).
It is a reposado agave spirit, rested in oak barrels for a smoother, warmer character than an unaged agave spirit. Although the spirit inside is traditional agave, it is labelled an agave spirit rather than tequila because its final maturation and bottling take place in the United States.
Part of the Hall of Champions series, it is made to be both a great pour and a true showpiece: a warm golden spirit inside a paneled soccer ball design with a Hall of Champions neck tag that looks at home on a bar cart, in a game room or on an office shelf. It is approachable enough for newer tequila fans and still interesting for anyone who likes barrel-kissed agave.
A gift that gets a wow before the first sip, it is perfect for soccer fans and collectors.
Reposado, meaning rested, is tequila aged between two months and a year in oak, which gives it a pale gold colour and a gentle touch of wood while keeping the agave bright and lively.
Tequila can only be made from blue Weber agave in five designated Mexican states, chiefly Jalisco, and the finest bottlings are made from 100% agave. Sipping tequila is best enjoyed from a narrow-rimmed glass that concentrates the aromas, at room temperature and without salt or lime, so the character of the agave and the barrel can come through.
