Cooperstown Select is Cooperstown Distillery's most acclaimed straight bourbon, made from a unique four-grain mash bill of local New York State grains, aged at least three years and bottled at 100 proof (50% ABV).
Crafted at Cooperstown Distillery in Otsego County, New York, it is batch-distilled at a farm distillery from 100% New York State corn, malted barley, rye and oats, then aged in choice new charred oak barrels.
It is a remarkably soft and delicate bourbon. The nose offers clove, allspice, light earthy notes and char; the palate creamy crème brûlée, burnt caramel and chocolate with honeyed undertones; and the finish is smooth and delicate with nutmeg, butterscotch and honey.
Awarded Liquid Gold with 95 points in Jim Murray's Whisky Bible, it makes a fine gift for bourbon lovers.
Enjoy it neat or on the rocks.
Bourbon must be made in the United States from a mash of at least 51% corn and aged in new charred oak containers, and straight bourbon must be aged at least two years. Those rules give bourbon its characteristic sweetness, with caramel and vanilla drawn from the charred barrels.
A straight bourbon is made from at least 51% corn and aged at least two years in new charred oak containers.
Adding oats to a mash bill tends to give bourbon a softer, creamier texture.
