Corazón Expresiones Thomas H. Handy is a 100% blue Weber agave añejo tequila from Casa San Matías in Los Altos, Jalisco, aged 19 months in retired Thomas H. Handy Sazerac Rye whiskey barrels and bottled at 40% ABV.
Part of the celebrated Expresiones del Corazón collection, which ages Corazón tequila in barrels from Buffalo Trace's Antique Collection, it is the most limited expression in the series. It merges the sweet, floral qualities of highland agave with the bold rye spice of its cask, and it earned a Gold Medal at the 2019 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
The nose offers oak, jasmine, ginger, chocolate, clove, coconut and nutmeg. The palate brings toffee, fig cake, candied fruit, cinnamon, clove and refreshing mint over sweet agave, and the finish is long and warming, with allspice and toasted oak.

Añejo tequila is aged between one and three years in oak barrels of no more than 600 litres, long enough to add colour, sweetness and spice while keeping the character of the agave, which makes it a natural sipping tequila.
Tequila can only be made from blue Weber agave in five designated Mexican states, chiefly Jalisco, and the finest bottlings are made from 100% agave. Sipping tequila is best enjoyed from a narrow-rimmed glass that concentrates the aromas, at room temperature and without salt or lime, so the character of the agave and the barrel can come through.
