Courage+Stone is the brainchild of actress, comedian, director and author Aisha Tyler, well known in Hollywood as an accomplished mixologist and spirits enthusiast. Knowing firsthand that a great cocktail can be messy and labor intensive, she set out to create a premium, bar-quality cocktail that could be enjoyed at home without the effort.
It starts at the source, with craft-distilled rye whiskey from New York Distilling Company in Brooklyn. To it the team adds cane sugar, their own bespoke vermouth, their own custom C+S bitters and natural flavors of cherry and dark chocolate. No industrial alcohol, artificial flavors, coloring, corn syrup or preservatives are used. The result is a double-gold award-winning Manhattan.
It is the perfect balance of sweet spirit, rich vermouth, aromatic bitters and oak spice. Brandied raisins, honeyed vanilla, dark chocolate and cherry enrich the spiciness of the rye, with a dark, figgy depth and notes of brandied cherry, clove and fruitcake. Rich, opulent and decadent.
