Dano's Dangerous Reposado is a 100% blue Weber agave tequila from Jalisco, aged up to nine months in virgin American white oak barrels and bottled at 80 proof (40% ABV).
Reposado is where Dano and the Reyes family chose to take the harder path. While most tequilas rest in used barrels, this one is aged in virgin American white oak, bringing structure, warmth and depth without masking the agave. Its nine months in barrel is more than four times the industry minimum for a reposado. The tequila is produced under NOM 1507 and won Double Gold at the 2018 SIP Awards.
It shows a light amber colour. The aroma is gently toasted agave, with a taste of almond and vanilla ending in a soft oak flavour, with caramel depth in every pour.
Wonderful for sipping or for the finest mixed drinks, it makes a fun gift.
Sip it neat or mix a reposado Margarita.
Reposado, meaning rested, is tequila aged between two months and a year in oak, which gives it a pale gold colour and a gentle touch of wood while keeping the agave bright and lively.
Tequila can only be made from blue Weber agave in five designated Mexican states, chiefly Jalisco, and the finest bottlings are made from 100% agave. Sipping tequila is best enjoyed from a narrow-rimmed glass that concentrates the aromas, at room temperature and without salt or lime, so the character of the agave and the barrel can come through.
