Deau VSOP is a cognac from Distillerie des Moisans, a multi-cru blend made mostly from Fins Bois, bottled at 40% ABV.
It is aged around five years in oak.
It leads with orange blossom and dried apricot, balanced by walnut, nutmeg and a gentle bitter edge.
Velvety and smooth, it finishes with roasted almond, dried fruit, spice and pink peppercorn.
It won a silver medal with 87 points at the 2024 Bartender Spirits Awards, and its red label with the gold stag makes it a handsome gift.
Cognac must be made from white grapes grown in the Cognac region of France, double distilled in copper pot stills and aged in French oak, with age categories such as VSOP and XO describing the minimum age of the youngest brandy in the blend.
