Del Maguey Tobaziche is a limited single village mezcal from San Luis del Río, Oaxaca, distilled from wild Tobaziche agave and bottled at 47% ABV.
Tobaziche is a wild member of the Agave karwinskii family, an upright, cylindrical maguey closely related to Madrecuixe. This limited edition is made by Marcos Cruz, son of Paciano Cruz Nolasco, Del Maguey's longtime partner family in San Luis del Río. Del Maguey, founded by artist Ron Cooper, introduced the Single Village concept, bottling each mezcal from one village and one family's palenque.
The nose offers sweet tropical fruit with green herb and capsicum. The palate brings tropical fruit with a strong mineral complexity over earthy, smoky depth and an underlying citrus sweetness, and the finish is very long.

Mezcal is made by roasting agave hearts, traditionally in earthen pits, then crushing, fermenting and distilling them, a process that gives the spirit its characteristic smoky depth.
