Delta Dirt Sweet Blend Vodka is an award-winning vodka from Delta Dirt Distillery in Helena, Arkansas, distilled from sweet potatoes and corn grown on the family farm in the Arkansas Delta and bottled at 86 proof (43% ABV).
Delta Dirt Distillery is owned and operated by Harvey and Donna Williams and their family, whose roots in Phillips County, Arkansas, run four generations deep; "Papa" Joe Williams sharecropped the original 86 acres in the late 1800s. Today the family turns crops grown on that farm, along the Mississippi River in some of the richest soil in the country, into award-winning spirits at its distillery on historic Cherry Street in downtown Helena, which opened in April 2021 with the motto "Raise Spirits in the Delta." Son Thomas is the master distiller.
Sweet Blend was the distillery's original spirit. It is hand-crafted from sweet potatoes and corn, both grown on the family farm, for a smooth, refreshing and uniquely flavored bar staple, and it has won double and triple gold medals in competition. The Williams family also donates one percent of sales to community education and initiatives.
The sweet potato gives the vodka a subtle sweetness and an earthy character over a smooth, clean profile, so it is easy enough to sip neat or over a little ice. Drinkers often call it the smoothest vodka they have tried.
