Dewar's 19 Year Old The Champions Edition 2022 is a limited-edition blended Scotch whisky created as the official whisky of the 122nd U.S. Open Championship, bottled at 86 proof (43% ABV) and presented in a gift tin.
The tournament was played June 16 to 19, 2022, at The Country Club in Brookline, Massachusetts, the same course where Francis Ouimet won the legendary 1913 U.S. Open, sparking a passion for golf in America that continues to this day. This was the second Champions Edition, following the first release timed to the 2021 Open, and it honours two inseparable Scottish icons, Scotch and golf: from many casks, one champion blend emerges.
The whisky was developed by Dewar's Master Blender Stephanie MacLeod, three times named Master Blender of the Year, in partnership with the USGA, and every component has been aged for at least 19 years. Dewar's itself was founded in 1846 by John Dewar, growing from a small wine and spirits merchant's shop in Scotland into one of the largest Scotch whisky brands in the world.
This edition is round and mellow, a rolling, easy-drinking blend with the depth that nearly two decades of maturation brings.
Presented in its commemorative tin, it is a perfect gift for golfers and Scotch lovers.
Scotch whisky must be distilled and matured in Scotland for at least three years in oak casks, and any age statement on the label refers to the youngest whisky in the bottle.
