Dewar's Double Double 21 Year Old Stone Toasted Magma is a limited-release blended Scotch finished in French oak casks toasted with electrically heated Icelandic magma stones, bottled at 46% ABV. It won Double Gold at the 2025 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
Master blender Stephanie Macleod created the Double Double range around Dewar's four-stage ageing process, in which malts and grains are aged, blended, aged again and married together. For this edition, the radiant heat of the magma stones toasts the French oak evenly, avoiding the charred, ashy notes that can come with direct-fire toasting.
The result offers subtle notes of cinnamon and clove, creamy caramel and baked apples with toasted cereals. There is also buttery pastry, marmalade-like orange and jammy stone fruit, with lemon cake and golden syrup on the palate.
Presented in a limited-release gift box, it is a superb gift for whisky lovers.

Scotch whisky must be distilled and matured in Scotland for at least three years in oak casks, and any age statement on the label refers to the youngest whisky in the bottle.
Blended Scotch combines malt whiskies with grain whiskies from across Scotland, and at 21 years every component in this bottle has rested at least two decades in oak. French oak brings tighter grain and more spice than American oak, and the gentle, even toast of the magma stones draws out sweetness and warmth without bitterness.
