Don Cayo Añejo Blue Ceramic Special Edition is a 100% blue agave tequila crafted in El Arenal, in the lowlands of Jalisco, presented in a hand-painted polygonal blue and white ceramic decanter inspired by traditional Mexican Talavera pottery. It is bottled at 40% ABV.
Don Cayo was founded in honour of the family patriarch, Don Cayetano González. Its añejo is known for an exceptionally smooth, soft profile, with slow-roasted valley agave and rich bakery-wood notes, and is finished in ex-bourbon barrels.
The profile is velvety and sweet-forward, with caramel, vanilla, oak, butter and honey rounding out the earthy cooked agave.
The Talavera-style decanter makes it a coveted gift and a centrepiece for a home bar.

Añejo tequila is aged between one and three years in oak barrels of no more than 600 litres, long enough to add colour, sweetness and spice while keeping the character of the agave, which makes it a natural sipping tequila.
Tequila can only be made from blue Weber agave in five designated Mexican states, chiefly Jalisco, and the finest bottlings are made from 100% agave. Sipping tequila is best enjoyed from a narrow-rimmed glass that concentrates the aromas, at room temperature and without salt or lime, so the character of the agave and the barrel can come through.
