Don Fulano Fuerte is the original overproof blanco tequila, bottled at 100 proof (50% ABV): profoundly aromatic, full of spice and flavour, and yet mellow, with floral glimmers of jasmine and orange blossom.
Don Fulano comes from a family-owned company representing five generations of agaveros in the Highlands of Jalisco, and all of its agave is estate grown. The family sees itself as a guardian of a tradition under threat from industrial processes, and Fuerte brings a direct connection with the agave fields, their terroir, a patient fermentation and masterful distillation in copper alembics.
Grassiness from volcanic well water shows on the nose of this pure, ethereal tequila. Yellow apple and cooked, mature agave make it soft and smooth despite its higher proof, while the palate shows its complex terroir, high minerality and a wet-cement note. Full bodied and generous in its complexity, its finish is full and prolonged.

Blanco tequila is bottled unaged or rested for less than two months, so it shows the agave at its purest: bright, peppery and fresh. It is the classic choice for margaritas and palomas, and a good blanco is just as rewarding sipped neat.
Tequila can only be made from blue Weber agave in five designated Mexican states, chiefly Jalisco, and the finest bottlings are made from 100% agave. Sipping tequila is best enjoyed from a narrow-rimmed glass that concentrates the aromas, at room temperature and without salt or lime, so the character of the agave and the barrel can come through.
