Don Julio 70 is an añejo that has been charcoal filtered to a crystal-clear color while keeping the oak-aged flavor. It is Don Julio's cristalino añejo, created for the 70th anniversary of Don Julio González's tequila making.
Don Julio González began making tequila in 1942. The 70th Anniversary release is Don Julio's cristalino expression.
The tequila is made from 100% blue Weber agave, aged 18 months in American white oak barrels and then charcoal filtered, which removes the color but keeps the aged character. It is bottled at 80 proof (40% ABV).
