Dos Caras Premium Reposado, called El Atrevido, the daring one, is a 100% blue agave tequila rested six to nine months in new American oak barrels and bottled at 80 proof (40% ABV).
Dos Caras is sustainably produced in Arandas, in the highlands of Jalisco, at a kosher-certified distillery. The brand's idea for its reposado is that risk, daring and courage give adventure its flavor and life its force.
The reposado is medium-bodied, with mild undertones of oak, hints of honey and citrus fruit and a slight smoke on the finish. Cooked agave, maple and vanilla round out the profile, with a light reflection of oak from its time in new barrels.
Its golden, faceted bottle makes it a handsome gift for tequila fans.
Reposado, meaning rested, is tequila aged between two months and a year in oak, which gives it a pale gold colour and a gentle touch of wood while keeping the agave bright and lively.
Tequila can only be made from blue Weber agave in five designated Mexican states, chiefly Jalisco, and the finest bottlings are made from 100% agave. Sipping tequila is best enjoyed from a narrow-rimmed glass that concentrates the aromas, at room temperature and without salt or lime, so the character of the agave and the barrel can come through.
