Dos Maderas Selección is a triple-aged rum from the historic Spanish bodega Williams & Humbert, bottled at 84 proof (42% ABV) and presented in its tube.
It brings together rums from Barbados and Guyana that are first aged five years in the Caribbean in used bourbon barrels. They are then shipped to Jerez, Spain, where they rest three years in Palo Cortado sherry casks and two more years in casks that held 20-year-old Pedro Ximénez sherry. Finally, under the supervision of master blender Paola Medina, the rum is blended in a solera system and bottled without reduction.
The result bridges the tropical climate of the Caribbean and the historic solera traditions of Jerez: a deep, dark rum with a full-bodied, creamy and exceptionally smooth texture and a rounded viscosity, with the unmistakable influence of the sherry casks.
