Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin with Brazilian Pineapple is a tropical take on the original Gunpowder Gin, slow distilled by hand at The Shed Distillery in Drumshanbo, County Leitrim, Ireland, and bottled at 86 proof (43% ABV).
Twelve botanicals, nine countries, one curious adventure: the gin is born of the same restless exploration that has defined PJ Rigney since he founded The Shed Distillery. This time the journey took him to the vibrant, color-saturated landscapes of Brazil, where he discovered the abacaxi, the locally prized Brazilian pineapple, known for a refreshingly sweet and tangy character unlike any other variety. PJ saw immediately how it would bring something new to his gin.
Eight botanicals, including Chinese gunpowder tea, juniper and meadowsweet, are slow distilled by hand in medieval copper pot stills, alongside the gin's vapor-infused botanicals. The result keeps the gin's signature oriental depth while opening up to a bright, tropical warmth, with no added sugar. Every bottle is hand-filled, labeled and sealed at The Shed in Drumshanbo.
Crystalline gunpowder tea and oriental botanicals are complemented by exotic layers of fresh citrus and subtle hints of Brazilian pineapple. The palate is a harmonious blend of juniper and botanicals lifted by pineapple sweetness and a hint of tea, and the finish is smooth and refreshing, with lingering exotic fruit and gentle spice.
