Dry Fly Washington Dry Gin is a light, refreshing American gin made on Dry Fly's wheat vodka base with a regionally specific botanical deck of Washington-grown Fuji apple, coriander, lavender, mint and hops plus Oregon juniper, bottled at 80 proof (40% ABV).
Dry Fly Distilling was founded in Spokane, Washington, in 2007, one of the first craft distilleries in the state and a pioneer of the Northwest craft spirits scene. It began with Don Poffenroth and a good friend, knee-deep in a Pacific Northwest river, talking about how fortunate they were to live, work and play in one of the most amazing places on earth. Dry Fly embraces a farm-to-bottle approach for all of its products, with grain sourced from family farms within 30 miles of the distillery, making it a true grain-to-glass operation.
Dry Fly Gin is recognized as one of the first new American-style gins with a regionally specific botanical deck. It starts with the same base spirit as Dry Fly's award-winning vodka, distilled from local wheat, and adds Washington-grown botanicals, Fuji apple, coriander, lavender, mint and hops, to fresh Oregon juniper berries. It is a different style from the more common London Dry, and everything in it is local, from the base through the botanicals.
Light and mellow, it shows citrus and apple up front with a hefty punch of lavender on the finish, juniper in the background, and complementary zest and spice that roll on for minutes.
