El Cristiano Reposado is a 100% blue Weber agave tequila from Los Altos de Jalisco, made from 6-year-old agave and aged for six months in American oak casks, bottled at 80 proof (40% ABV).
El Cristiano draws its agave from the highlands of Los Altos de Jalisco, and the brand is committed to both quality and sustainability. Ageing the silver batches for six months in American oak gives the reposado its complex aromas and flavours.
It shows a pale golden amber colour with a silvery cast. The nose offers crème brûlée, dried tropical fruit, nougat, dried flowers and spice. The palate has a soft, satiny entry to a sweet, fruity, medium to full body, with anise cookie, herb and grilled pepper accents.
Its elegant tall bottle makes it a refined gift.
Sip it neat or over a large cube, or mix an elevated Margarita.
Reposado, meaning rested, is tequila aged between two months and a year in oak, which gives it a pale gold colour and a gentle touch of wood while keeping the agave bright and lively.
Tequila can only be made from blue Weber agave in five designated Mexican states, chiefly Jalisco, and the finest bottlings are made from 100% agave. Sipping tequila is best enjoyed from a narrow-rimmed glass that concentrates the aromas, at room temperature and without salt or lime, so the character of the agave and the barrel can come through.
