El Dorado 15 Year Old is a Demerara rum from Demerara Distillers in Guyana, aged a minimum of fifteen years and bottled at 40% ABV.
It is artfully blended from marques of Guyana's historic stills: the EHP Wooden Coffey still, the Metal Coffey still, the Port Mourant Double Wooden Pot Still and the Versailles Single Wooden Pot Still. Its unmistakable taste comes from the Port Mourant double wooden pot still, which gives an earthy, peat-like finish. The rum is aged in American oak bourbon barrels in Guyana's tropical climate.
The full nose is packed with dark coffee, candied orange, almonds, dark chocolate, pepper and vanilla, and the flavours bring grilled tropical fruit with smooth, oaky spice in a moderately full body.
