El Gran Legado Blanco Still Strength is bottled straight from the still at 109 proof (54.5% ABV) with no water added, showcasing the full intensity of single-estate, high-Brix agave from Michoacán.
The brand follows a No Steps Skipped philosophy. The agave piñas are split and hand-loaded into traditional brick ovens for a slow 24-hour cook, rested an extra day, then milled, naturally fermented in stainless steel and distilled with precise cuts by the maestro tequilero. The tequila then stabilizes for 15 to 30 days in stainless steel before bottling.
Undiluted, the blanco is bold and concentrated, with the sweetness of high-sugar agave and a long, warming finish.
It is a strong gift for tequila lovers who want to taste agave at full strength.
Blanco tequila is bottled unaged or rested for less than two months, so it shows the agave at its purest: bright, peppery and fresh. It is the classic choice for margaritas and palomas, and a good blanco is just as rewarding sipped neat.
Tequila can only be made from blue Weber agave in five designated Mexican states, chiefly Jalisco, and the finest bottlings are made from 100% agave. Sipping tequila is best enjoyed from a narrow-rimmed glass that concentrates the aromas, at room temperature and without salt or lime, so the character of the agave and the barrel can come through.
Brix measures the sugar content of the agave; high-Brix piñas give a sweeter, richer tequila.
Michoacán is one of the few states outside Jalisco within the tequila Denomination of Origin.
A splash of water in the glass lets you find your own ideal strength.
